Bloomfield residents, businesses, and other property owners can conveniently pay their property taxes on-line using your debit or credit cards.   You should read the information on this page prior to making your first on-line payment to understand the particulars, (like what information you will need, what the fee is, what types of cards are accepted, and other important stuff.)

Needed Information:

  • Credit / Debit Cardholder Information
  1. Name
  2. [Billing] address
  3. Daytime phone number
  4. Email address (for verification & confirmation)
  5. Credit / Debit card type, number, expiration, &
    security code (if applicable) 

 

  • Tax Bill Information:
    (Input exactly as it appears on the tax bill.)
  1. Taxpayer name
  2. List Number
  3. Grand List year (same as the first 4 digits of the List Number.)
  4. The amount you are paying; (see below for past-due payments.)

 
Notice:  Please take the time to insure that the information you provide is correct and complete.  The Town, its Tax Collector, and/or its Service Providers are not responsible for incorrect information being provided or for any incorrect, delayed, or unaccepted application of payment where incorrect or incomplete information has been provided by the payer.

 
Convenience Fee Amounts:

  • Debit Card transactions will be charged a flat convenience fee of $3.95 per transaction regardless of the payment amount.
  • Credit Card transactions will be charged a convenience fee of 2.75% of the base transaciton amount (i.e. the amount of the tax payment).

  • Debit Cards - Visa and Mastercard
  • Credit Cards - Discover, American Express, Visa, and Mastercard

 
Transaction Receipt Information:

When the payment has been successfully processed, you will be issued a confirmation number** online as the last part of the process, and will be given the option to print a receipt and/or have a confirmation emailed to you.  ** It is important that you save your confirmation number in some convenient manner, as this is how your payment is tracked if any questions or issues arise.

 
Past-Due Taxes:

If your taxes are past-due, the tax bill will not reflect the correct amount owed.  In this case, please call the Bloomfield Tax Office at 860-769-3510 to get your current amount due (and pay that amount) to insure that all of the amounts due on the account are paid so that it does not remain delinquent and continue to accrue interest charges.
